Michael Burleigh has won the 2012 Nonino International Master of His Time prize, which will be awarded by Sir Vidia Naipaul and his fellow judges at a ceremony in Udine on 28 January. The Prize is reserved for non-Italians, and previous winners include Hugh Thomas, Rene Girard, Emmanuel LeRoy Ladurie and Tzvetan Todorov.
